19th June 1971 - 2nd May 2005

Our dear friend Beatrice has left us after several years of battling with lupus and several months with cancer. Although she lost her battle, she won the hearts of those lucky enough to have known her with her cheerful demeanor. And even though she has left us, her giggles will continue to resonate in our minds... reminding us that life, despite its pains and sufferings, should still be faced with optimism and laughter. This page is created in loving memory of her and the wonderful times we had together.

The following muvee was done by friends from muvee as a form of remembrance..

Sound of Beatrice will be lost forever in our premises. I pray that you find true comfort and happiness. For all the pain and sufferings that you had to undergo, you showed a tremondous amount of courage. You showed the true spirit 'Do all you can' till the last moment.

You have showed us how to fight problems while maintaining happiness .

You will be missed at muvee.

Beat-Rice...I still have your last SMS u sent me in March...telling me to go make more money for muvee and not worry about visiting you in the hospital...
I regret that I did not come to see u as often as I would have liked...I know u always looked up to me as someone with immense amount of optimism and fighting spirit, but little did u know that u have even more of that spirit...and the battles u fight make mine look like a romp in the playground.

I will miss u very very dearly. Each time I demo a style on my nokia, I will think of you, and it will put a smile on my face. Your legacy lives on in the millions of phones that will ship...and of course, in all our hearts.

Will be 3rd anniversary since u left us. Our late OTs together , as cubicle-mate , your spidey , your laughter and many burger kings @ bencoolen and also my buddy at work. Those are the memorial happy days during my early days. I will miss your company, and the memory will etch inside me.

was clearing my emails and i found this written by Phil in the welcome email for beatrice :

"Beatrice Beh joined us back in November as Production Manager reporting to me. Beatrice is co-ordinating and managing the styles content creation process and is our key interface with the many freelance musicians and "style sample creators" that we use on an ad hoc basis. Beatrice started her career in technical roles with AT&T Microelectronics and MCSB Systems and then became a telecommunications engineer with Merrill Lynch. She has also worked in Broadcast Operations and video editing roles with Television Corporation of Singapore, Channel KTV and Sony Pictures Television. She has been On-Air Promotions Co-ordinator for AXN. She holds a Diploma in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Singapore Polytechnic and a Graduate Diploma in Management studies from the University of Hull. Beatrice at various times has also been a voice talent, actress, Chinese Drama scriptwriter, copywriter and lyricist and backup vocalist. Obviously she has no spare time for any other hobbies or pursuits I reckon (!)."

Another email from Phil:

It is with deep sadness and regret that I must let you know that our good friend and

colleague Beatrice Beh Eu Fen has passed away after several months of serious illness.

I first met Beatrice almost ten years ago when we both joined a fledgling karaoke television

channel based at Bugis Junction. I was running operations and Beatrice was working in

production. As always, she was one of the most enthusiastic members of the team and worked

crazy hours - at one point her boss threatened to ban her from working overtime as it was

rumoured that she'd clocked up so much time-off-in-lieu that she could almost take the rest

of the year off (I think it was only June).

Some years after I stepped in briefly to help run operations for Sony Pictures Television

and I was delighted to find that Beatrice had crossed over from production to join the

transmission team there. Despite the shift work and long hours, Beatrice could always be

relied upon for complete professionalism and to bring some sunshine and laughter to the

proceedings.

A couple of years later I was having coffee with her ex-boss when we spotted Beatrice and

called her over to join us. That impromtu coffee and catch-up on old times took about three

hours. It was also a happy co-incidence as muvee was about to embark on a big production

slate of mobile styles and needed someone with a solid television background to work with us

to pull it all together. I was therefore delighted that Beatrice accepted the challenge and

joined us shortly afterwards as our Production Manager. In a matter of months and with a

flurry of activity she had established the procedures, gathered up a roster of freelance

talent and helped get over 160 mobile styles rolling down the production line. It was an

impressive feat and helped to demonstrate our creative prowess at a crucial early stage for

the mobile project.

Beatrice was undoubtedly one of the most cheerful and positive people I have ever had the

pleasure to work with and her loyalty and dedication was unmatched. I have always had the

greatest admiration for Beatrice - she was a very modest and caring person but with a

resiliance - and an outspoken fighting spirit pitted against any unfairness - that did her

credit and made her a great ally to have by your side when the pressure was on.

I know Beatrice loved working with us at muvee and even in the darkest hours of her illness

she was always determined to come back to carry on her work. Well her job is still here.

But she is not. Perhaps today we must just imagine that she has stepped over to the other

office for a little while to sort out a problem or two and bring a bit of her laughter and

good cheer to others. Today we have to miss our turn with Beatrice. And it's hard.
